The Most Eligible: A New York Society Novel
Facing financial ruin after her father’s death, Lady Sophie Woodwright is sent from England to New York City to find a wealthy husband. Chaperoned by her aunt, she’s quickly introduced to the prominent Baker family and their charming heir, Archie. However, Sophie’s carefully laid plans are complicated by a chance encounter with Archie’s best friend, the notorious rake and shipping magnate, Matthew Albouhrne.
Torn between the security offered by Archie and the undeniable passion she feels for Matthew, Sophie navigates the treacherous waters of New York society. A midnight kiss ignites her hopes, only to be shattered by a devastating discovery. While Sophie dedicates herself to a future with Archie, a chance encounter with Matthew in the city impoverished Lower East Side reveals a hidden depth to his character – and a shared connection to those in need. As their paths continue to intertwine, Sophie and Matthew must confront their deepest fears and desires to find a love that defies societal expectations and heals past wounds.
